Team Netmums: Things that go bump in the night

It’s Friday again meaning it’s time for a look behind the scenes with our Team Netmums Post.  Our members are such a talented bunch and they never fail to amaze us – this week we’ve been sharing the fantastic Halloween photos members have been sending in  – with some fab inspiration for costumes, food and decorations. Here’s our pick of our favourites to get you in the mood for Halloween.

Spooky cakes and devilish delights

There are some stunning culinary creations in our gallery. The witch’s cauldron cake sent in by Dorcas is so detailed – we think it’s fabulous. And Megan’s pumpkin cake is a work of art. We also loved the brilliant eyeball fairy cakes and Krispie pumpkins sent in by Ann and Emilia – not only do they look fantastic but they are both easy re-creatable too.

Creative carvings

Whilst Team Netmums manage to carve wonky grins and triangle eyes, there have been some stunning examples of much more intricate pumpkin carvings sent it. Lisa’s cat carving is amazing. We shared Rebecca’s pumpkin carving photo on our Facebook pages when we spied it and it scared everyone half to death! Eerily good.

Cute costumes

There are some brilliant costume ideas in the gallery (and some examples of very talented face painters) but we thought these two had the Cute Factor.  Holly the Halloween kitten is doing her best scary expression and we love Mabel’s spider costume – we think there has been some creative sewing – stuffing black tights to make the legs. Inspired.

Things that go bump in the night

We just loved the way that even bumps are getting into the Halloween spirit! Stacy’s ‘Bumpkin’ got over 300 shares on our Facebook page, proving you thought it was a fab as we did. We also love Jade’s monster bump.

I made my 5 year old a spider costume with stuffed black tights like that for school’s ugly bug ball, and tied them together so that when he moved his arms all the arms moved. But I put gloves on the arms and connected them that way – so that if he got tired of the extra weight all he had to do was slip his gloves off and let them hang loose!
